Winter 2023 Table Talk
During this winter and in the next 7 weeks, I am learning about the currency of Honor with friends, and I will be sharing my teaching notes with y'all.
Every success in life can be attributed to honor of some sort- either to principles, protocols, process, policy, program, time and people. Honor begins with God.
The purpose of this study is to help you understand How to give and receive Honor
Think of greatness as a room with a pre-defined size. Your skills and your talents give you a desk in the room of greatness but not everyone has a seat. Your seat in the room of greatness depends on your values, your attitude, your honor to principles, your honor to process, your honor for time, and your humility in addition to some other important principles we would be sharing on The How Platform. There are systems everywhere and humans can be likened to a door. Knowing the key that open those doors and conquer the giants is wisdom.

Honor is the key that unlocks the value in an individual. Mathew 13:53-58 records a story about when Jesus- full of anointing and help but could not help the people of His hometown because they did not value Him. Isn't this the carpenter son? they said. Isn't his mother's name Mary? Aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? They knew Jesus background so well that it clouds the value they accord to Him as the son of God.
Honor starts with God. God showed Himself honor by valuing His words more than His name. Honor is derived from the word "Cabot" which means Value. Honor means something of glory, worthy of respect or considered precious. Honor starts with you because it is having high moral standards of behavior in your interaction. Honor is the foundation for integrity. To honor means compliance to instructions.
According to Webster- Honor is the idea of a bond between an individual and a society as a quality of a person that is both of social teaching and of personal ethos, that manifests itself as a code of conduct, and has various elements such as valor, chivalry, honesty, and compassion.
Here are some Application Questions
